Fixion: Technology & Features
The Fixion nails are inserted into the medullary canal in a reduced diameter and, once positioned, are expanded within the bone using pressurized saline solution.
The expansion enables the nail to adapt itself to the shape and diameter of the medullary canal for optimal rotational stability.
The surgical procedure is minimally invasive.
Operating time and fluoroscopy exposure are significantly reduced.
Expansion mechanism
The nail is a Stainless Steel Implant constructed out of a membrane and four longitudinal bars.
The Fixion nails are inserted into the medulla canal in a reduced diameter.
Using a designated Pump, pressurized saline solution is used to expand the nail to the desired diameter.
